Sniff Whatsapp or Telegram in seconds…😳

Intoday’s tutorial, I will show you how I sniff WhatsApp with only Social Engineering Techniques & a mobile phone, nothing else. Please be aware that a similar technique is often used by Scammers to take away your WhatsApp & not only within seconds but no worries,

A while ago, I was engaged in a tiny demonstration on how Phishing techniques can be devastating in seconds. There, I had no lap with me but only one of my mobile dual sim android based. I was told to impress with no tools or expensive staff without creating costly long-term damages. Most of them were using WhatsApp & email for work; thus, the first may be the most straightforward attack, as email often needs more time & tools.
Soon, I decided. Indeed, I luckily had a new number ready to go shortly, too. I sought the best salespeople & their contact online, & pick one. I first reset my WhatsApp & then returned to the classic login but with their number. Obviously, target received the login code & it was now the time for Social Engineering to hit through. Straight after, I messaged him with a standard text message saying it was another colleague who had just forwarded his WhatsApp code by mistake & asked if he could kindly send it back.
Within minutes, codes were received! He believed it & in seconds, I logged in, added a password, an email & then, his WhatsApp was mine! From there, I was able to gather all his last chats & messages, thus, able to do much more whilst locking the victim out. 😳 This is a simple but effective attack that can lock the victim out & if a 2FA (Two Factor Authenticator) is enabled, it is harder to recover his own Whatsapp.
Please be aware that this technique is used by Scammers, sometimes tricking you with VOIP numbers that can end on your “REAL” previous chat. Nowadays, thanks to VOIP, rerouting & more, it is not easy to impersonate others, even if only for a short time.
Please, NEVER & EVER share any code with ANYONE!
Make sure you know with whom you are texting or emailing, as anyone can be on the other side.
🥷🏻 — What can you do to protect yourself! 🛡️
Luckily, this technique, as simply practical, can be simply stopped. Like almost everything, Whatsapp offers the option to use 2FA for your login, which, even if it is not working on Whatsapp Web, can still save you against that kind of attack. To activate 2FA in Whatsapp, follow below:
- - Open Whatsapp
- - Go to Settings
- - Then Account
- - Then Two-Step Verification
- - Insert your email address
- - Insert The Verification Code
- - Enter a 6-digit pin
Sequences of inserting a PIN or email code may change from OS, but the point is to add a code to prevent anyone from logging without a code & an email. If you need to remember the code, you are simply safe from those types of attacks, not for all the types of attacks.
This is only a type of attack often performed by scammers & their coworkers when trying to gain unauthorised access to accounts. Indeed, the most basic defence is a 2FA & save the BACKUP CODES + you can remember to never & never & ever to give away your codes.
